Learning

Well i was planing on waiting til September but over the Christmas holiday it became clear to me that Jolee's ready to learn! She is very much enjoying herself. Its pretty exciting for both of us.
Another exciting note is that Julian can read three stories all by himself. We've been practising almost every night for the past month and he has really picked it up. I know this year ahead has alot of changes for us as a family and it's pretty exciting and scary at the same time! The thought of Julian going into grade one just seems crazy to me. Time is passing so quickly! It's very easy to get stressed out (it comes naturally to me) but i'm trying to focus on each day as it comes and giving the rest to God since his shoulder's are much larger than mine.

Mail with love

When you make something for someone who's special in your life you tend to want to make to personal. And thats what i did with this card for my sis in-law's up coming birthday. My sis in-law is a very sweet caring person and she loves dogs.
I don't get to spend nearly enough time with her due to the fact that she doesn't live in the same province. So i'm mailing her present to her this year which is kinda sad but hopefully getting something in the mail will make her birthday extra special.

Christmas presents

Well I'm finally back and I've been busy! This fall i was working on a couple of quilts for Christmas presents for two lovely ladies in my life. My mother in-law and sister in-law! It was definitely a labor of love :) But very worth all the time spent!
This first quilt was made for my mother in-law. I used mostly one fabric line called "Spa" but through in a couple other fabrics one of them being Heather Bailey.

This one was done for my sister in-law and i wanted it to be fun and spunky. I used some Amy Butler, Michael Miller, Joel Dewberry, and Heather Bailey. I lined both quilts with polar fleece to make them warmer and then flannel backed to make it cozy!
